What’s the plan? Where is America heading?

Once the new regime’s purges and deconstruction of the federal government is complete, what’s their next step? Looking at it from the regime’s main viewpoint, what happens to all the money they save from “fraud and waste”? Where is that money headed?

I haven’t noticed anyone pressing Presidents Musk and Trump for their plans after their government liquidation or getting answers if they do ask. The focus, mine included, has been on Musk and his crew of college interns ripping apart agency after agency while Trump resumes real estate dealings for Gaza and Greenland. It’s natural for us to watch the action and not what the coaches are doing, I guess. As we keep an eye on the players we’re distracted from the overall plan.

Has anyone seen, read, or heard anything from Washington about dealing with the bird flu that’s driving up egg prices? Are you aware of any actions to help reduce prices other than empty promises to lower prices? Have you been informed of anything being done to benefit American citizens?

Musk claims his people are finding billions in “fraud and waste” – without even reaching the Pentagon yet - even though there doesn’t appear to be an accountant or bookkeeper among his programmers as they download everything they can find. If you’re going to audit for fraud, wouldn’t you want an auditor who understands what to look for and how to accurately read the books? When it comes to money I trust accounting more than IT.

Once the alleged Department of Government Efficiency finds and stops all this wasteful spending, what’s next? It seems Congress, which is supposed to control the purse strings, is sidelined as Musk and Trump make the decisions. So farCongress has been as effective as a wet noodle, and I don’t expect much more than a rubber stamp from them.

So, what will Wally and the Beav do with all that rescued money?

Well, if our Fearless Leader can strongarm Denmark he could use it to buy Greenland. I suspect he’d rather snatch it up with some sort of international imminent domain strategy. He could use it to get the Palestinians out of Gaza. Then his offspring can build condos there on the Riviera of the Middle East, most likely with federal subsidies.

Maybe The Dark One could funnel the money to his space enterprise for an expedition to Mars, or to his vehicle company to make trucks that other trucks make fun of, or his social media business to keep out the riffraff. Speaking of riffraff, they could use the rescued money to build detention resorts for immigrants until flights to anywhere but here can be booked for them. Or they could just divvy it up among their oligarchy cohorts under the guise of a tax refund. After all, it’s hard out here for a billionaire.

Rather than going to “waste and fraud” perhaps those savings could go to rebuilding America’s crumbling infrastructure, which would improve transportation, create jobs, and make life better. Maybe it could be returned to the taxpayers, which would exclude the billionaires since they avoid taxes. Think what billions of dollars back in taxpayers’ hands could do for the economy, think about how many eggs that could buy. It’s a far-out idea, but maybe some of it could be used to help fund research for controlling or curing diseases. Wait, I forgot that’s part of the waste and fraud.

Nah, I think they’ll just find a way to channel all that “waste and fraud” money into their friends’ pockets and their pockets.

Beyond the money they’re “saving,” what are their other plans? How will they rebuild government in their own image? Trump said he had his own plan during the presidential campaign, which basically was creating a plan when he was in charge. So far his plan has been retribution and alienation while Musk takes the government apart like an erector set. Whatever their endgame, they’re heading there at a full-tilt boogie withoutslowing down a bit. Speed, it seems, is of the essence.

Project 2025, the conservative Heritage Foundation’s masterplan, keeps getting mentioned a lot. Put into a 900-page publication, Project 2025 is a right-wing final solution to imposing their will on America. Trump said during his campaign he knew nothing about Project 2025, although nearly a dozen of his appointments are people involved in creating the massive plan. Plus, several of his executive orders mirror Project 2025’s goals.

The Heritage Foundation says it’s just another in a line of wish lists and suggestions. It’s only another outline of what it thinks should be done to have a more conservative governmentand country, to restore America to what they think it should be, essentially turn back the clock. Since our oligarchs want to return to the ’90s – the robber baron era of the 1890s – Project 2025 sounds good to them.

Project 2025’s goals include eliminating the Departmentsof Education, Housing and Urban Development, and Homeland Security, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, dismantling the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and privatizing the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Transportation Security Administration. The Department of Justice would be placed under the president’s control to do his bidding.

Other goals include eliminating federal jobs, ending collective bargaining for public workers (effectively eliminatingpublic service unions), reducing federal employees’ pay and retirement benefits, getting rid of DEI efforts, controlling women’s health and reproductive rights, and cutting Social Security benefits.

Does any of this sound familiar to you?

Project 2025’s ultimate goal is shifting control of the government to the executive branch. Essentially it would eliminate the checks and balances system we’ve had since the US has been a country. The legislative and judicial branches would be subjective to the executive. Technically the president would be unaccountable to Congress and the courts.

If you want an authoritarian, totalitarian government, that’s how you get an authoritarian, totalitarian government.

Meanwhile, Presidents Musk and Trump march on unimpeded. Sure, suits have been filed and court orders have been issued, but they don’t seem to be having much effect. Remember, Wally and the Beav are moving at full speed, and they can’t let a trivial thing like the courts slow them down. It may not be long before the new regime simply ignores the courts. As long as like-minded people control Congress, don’t expect much help from that quarter.

I think this is their plan. Odds are before we finish Trump’s first 100 days in office the regime will exert executive privilege and ignore the courts. If, or when, that happens, what’s next?
